Thuận & Coffee — Cafe Vợt, 40 Hung Vuong, Ward 1, District 10: a café that brews coffee with the traditional cloth filter (vợt) — roasted coffee steeped in cloth, hot water poured slowly through the layers, waiting for each thick drop to fall; it keeps the boldness of old-Saigon coffee while filtering out the bitter sediment. The most-praised item is the homemade mulberry — fresh berries steeped in rock sugar, "unbelievably good" in smoothies, blended drinks and yogurt; ask the counter for mulberry-drink prices.
