INDIAN VEGETARIAN CUISINE

A busy, cheerful, family-style Indian vegetarian restaurant in a narrow two-story shophouse at 246 Lý Tự Trọng — mostly Indian families and tour groups, plus a few Western visitors.

The glass front opens to a small front zone: the cashier counter on the right and the round backlit “atithi” logo on the wall. The dining hall runs long toward the rear, red banquette on the left, white tables and cane chairs on the right.

Round brass-framed mirrors hang on the walls; under the wood-paneled ceiling, bamboo-cage pendants in two staggered rows give a warm amber light. White terrazzo floor, red brick pilasters, red woven placemats and folded red napkins finish the room. At the rear stand the wooden service counter, a drinks fridge and the staircase up.

The red “atithi” wordmark in stylized Devanagari-inspired Latin script, with its red peacock-feather mark and green “VEG” square-dot, appears on the signboard, the round backlit logo and the branded boards that carry the steel thalis and naan baskets. No founding story is claimed here — only the room, the light and the table as they are.
