Story
Vietnamese · District 1 · From 257 Lý Tự Trọng
Hai's Restaurant is a modern, welcoming Vietnamese dining room — where first-time phở eaters are shown the way by hand, and vegetarian regulars have dishes of their own.
The restaurant sits in central District 1, near Bến Thành Market, in a modern room with murals and dark wood tables. The menu is wide: roll-and-dip plates for the whole table, crisp bánh xèo, phở, curries, grilled catfish with rice-paper wraps, sizzling plates and seafood platters.
What guests mention most is not only the food but the service: English-speaking staff patiently show guests how to eat each dish — how to roll bánh xèo, how to wrap grilled catfish — and gladly make vegetarian versions when guests ask.
The restaurant also runs a Vietnamese cooking class with a market visit, morning or afternoon: pick three dishes, cook them yourself, and finish with egg coffee or coconut coffee — the two dessert drinks that have become house signatures.
