Our story
Vegetarian as a lifestyle, not just a ritual
“From my own story, from love, Padme Chay was born to share meaningful things.” — the venue's own Places description. The name Padme (from Om Mani Padme Hum) and the poetic dish names point at the same thing: vegetarian food here is a personal story, not a ritual.
The visit starts in the alley: 290/28 is not a street-front address but an alley number, and visitors describe stepping in as entering somewhere else — “gorgeous from the moment you walk in”, one post even recalling mist at the door like a dream. Inside is quiet garden seating, the most-praised part of the room in reviews, plus the oversized cardboard menus.
The through-line in reviews is surprise: vegetarian dishes that taste like the non-vegetarian original — “flavors are rich and satisfying, just like eating savory, non-vegetarian food”, “how can something that looks like meat be handled so well”, with vibrant color and aroma noted often. Service is praised as friendly, attentive and fast; one review notes “always about 4 of them hanging by each table”.
One thing to say plainly: this is a vegetarian restaurant, not fully vegan. Spinach grades it “limited vegan options” (many, 5–10 dishes), some dishes contain egg/dairy, and staff are not always sure of ingredients. Vegan diners should ask dish by dish before ordering.

No refined sugar, no refined salt, no MSG, no flavor enhancers, no artificial coloring — as Vinpearl paraphrases the house's positioning.
Two dish names quoted verbatim in reviews — “Ode of Tribute” and “What my mother told me on her rocking chair” — show a menu that tells stories, not just lists dishes.
Some dishes contain egg/dairy; Spinach notes limited vegan options and staff not always sure of ingredients. Do not treat the house as fully vegan.
