SUSUBAO
Shanghai buns · Freshly handmade everyday
A small, bright, compact dining room at 167A Nguyễn Thị Minh Khai: warm yellow walls, a tufted leather banquette, white tables — and out front, the charcoal signboard with the yellow bun logo. Buns handmade every day, pan-fried, bamboo-steamed, eaten on the spot.

Finding it
Charcoal signboard, yellow bun logo, number 167A
At night the front stands out with its charcoal signboard: large SUSUBAO lettering, “BÁNH BAO THƯỢNG HẢI” beneath, and vertical 苏苏包 characters at the right edge. A round hanging sign by the door repeats the yellow bun. Through the glass, the dining room glows warm yellow.

The signature
Rainbow pan-fried buns
The signature is the pan-fried bun with strikingly colored wrappers — deep red, yellow, white, orange, green, brown — topped with black and white sesame and chopped scallions, served on beige rectangular plates.
Handmade every day
On the glass: Freshly handmade everyday
From inside, the reversed lettering on the glass reads “SUSUBAO” and “FRESHLY HANDMADE EVERYDAY”. Outside is an orange-and-cream striped awning; inside are potted plants, a round wall clock, track lighting, and small dipping dishes on the tables.
