Story
One Taiwanese bakery, one batch, one fate.
Grand Castella was born in 2011 on Tamsui Old Street, Taiwan — where the giant sponge cake first drew queues.
Chef Lu Thai Thanh reworked a Japanese recipe with Taiwanese flavors: eggs, milk, flour — kneaded with care, baked through — for a wavy golden top and an airy crumb that melts in the mouth.
In 2017, Grand Castella came to Vietnam. The Ham Nghi shop — the brand’s headquarters — stays open 24/7, so a fresh batch leaves the oven at any hour.
And as people in Taiwan say: those who share one big batch are fated to meet somewhere in life. That is why the shop is called Duyen Vi — the flavor of fate.

Cut fresh
Fresh from the oven, each tray is cut into 10 equal loaves before your eyes — wavy golden top, airy crumb.
