Just enough
Eat just enough, live in a just-enough house, tune the light and the music to just enough — and drink Belgian beer the same way: just enough to feel, just enough to stop at your own limit.
Story
Lagom Café — Saigon, since 09/2018
Lagom is a Swedish word: not too much, not too little, just enough. Lagom Café made it the house rule — for the light, the music, the menu, and the pour.
The house opened in September 2018 with a deliberate idea: set two cultural drinks side by side — craft Belgian beer from a flourishing European land, and traditional Vietnamese coffee — and savour both slowly, one mouthful at a time, in their own spirit.
The room follows the same rule: gentle, romantic design with a vintage Nordic touch; soft yellow light; classic ballads, blue jazz and slow rock played at just-audible volume. The house fondly calls itself a café for the soul — a place to read, to reflect, to date, or to gather friends for a small warm party.
And the beer shelf is the house's treasury: nearly 70 selected Belgian beers, imported from the kingdom of Belgium, each bottle with its own character. Every beer is poured into its own glass, with an information card — so the drinker remembers what they liked, and chooses on from there next time.

Eat just enough, live in a just-enough house, tune the light and the music to just enough — and drink Belgian beer the same way: just enough to feel, just enough to stop at your own limit.
Hundreds of Belgian bottles beneath a board that calls Belgian beer an intangible cultural heritage of humanity. Under each bottle, a handwritten price tag — the shelf is both menu and small museum.
Among rattan pendants, industrial domes and Edison strings, the standout is a chandelier built from beer bottles — the room's light, quite literally, made from what the house sells.
Not only for drinking in: Lagom is also a takeaway Belgian beer shop, with delivery and elegant Belgian beer gift baskets for the festive season.
