Saigon Pho 39

FROM OUR HOMETOWN FARM TO TABLE

The shop's own sign says it: “Our hometown farm to table” — pho cooked from hometown ingredients, served in the centre of Saigon, until 1 AM.

Saigon Pho 39 sits on Mạc Thị Bưởi street, District 1, near the Saigon Central Mosque. A bright room, wood tables, woven wall panels — a calm restaurant with fast service, visited by many foreign guests.

The broth is what the shop is proudest of: beef bones simmered at high temperature for 8 hours with traditional spices from nature, no MSG, no grease. The noodles are rice flour with a little tapioca for bite.

Beyond pho there is banh mi, fresh and fried spring rolls, banh xeo and chicken rice with fish sauce — plus beer and iced coffee. Guests come for simple, delicious Vietnamese food, even late at night.
